Project Title: Polymer concepts Related to Post-translational Modifications of Neurodegeneration-Linked RNA-Binding Protein

Summary: The project aims to clarify how post-translational modifications (PTMs) influence the structure, dynamics, and transport properties of RNA-binding proteins, particularly FUS (Fused in Sarcome), which is implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases. By combining multiscale simulations with state-of-the-art physics-based modelling and machine-learning approaches, we will investigate how specific PTMs affect FUS behaviour across molecular and cellular length scales. This work will help reveal the mechanisms through which PTMs may disrupt normal protein function and contribute to disease-related processes.
