SFB1551 welcomes Michael te Vrugt as fully funded member!
We are excited to announce that Michael te Vrugt (JGU, Physics Department) just joined the SFB1551 as fully funded member with project entitled “Nucleation dynamics in field theories for intracellular phase separation”

“The overall aim of this project is the investigation of nucleation dynamics in intracellular phase separation on the basis of field-theoretical models. We will focus on situations that require an extension of CNT, because they involve several reaction coordinates (as in NCNT) and/or because they break detailed balance (active nucleation theory). Thereby, the project will provide general theoretical insights into the polymer physics of cellular phase separation.”

Michael te Vrugt was already actively involved in the SFB1551 since 2024 as associate PI. Following the submission and approval of his follow-up project proposal within the SFB1551, we’re excited to see Michael’s scientific progress

Congratulations!
